About AlMahdra.com

What do Hamza Yusuf, Ali al-Jifri, and scholars of their standing have in common? Before they became the voices that millions of Muslims turn to today, they sat in the Mauritanian Mahdra and learned.

The Mahdra is not a modern institution. It is a centuries-old tradition — the same tradition that produced some of the greatest scholars of Arabic and Islamic sciences in living memory and across Islamic history. Its method has never changed because it has never needed to. Scholar to student. Text to transmission. Generation to generation.

AlMahdra.com was built for one purpose: to bring that same level of teaching and scholarship directly to you — structured, accessible, and online.

Our team is entirely Mauritanian. Every lecturer on this platform was formed by the Mahdara tradition and is dedicated to this work for the benefit of Muslims around the world who carry a genuine desire to seek knowledge but face real barriers in making the journey to Mauritania. This platform exists because the knowledge should not be confined by geography.

What you find here is not a translation of the tradition into something easier. It is the tradition itself — Nahw, Sarf, and Balagha taught as they have always been taught, in Arabic, by scholars who inherited them through an unbroken chain.

The Mahdra is open. Your place is waiting.
